I went to Seoul city and I fell in love with Korean food. The uniqueness of Korean food is of course their Kimchi. There are more than one hundred different types of kimchi available. Generally they differ from region to region, depending on harvest and weather conditions. The Southern Provinces tend to use more salt and seafood so that the taste is stronger and sweeter as compared to the Northern Province where the kimchi taste less salty and milder.
My first day in Korea was in Jeju Island. I had the luxury to taste the best seashell steamboat. During my stay in Seoul, I had tried all sorts of local food from their famous Jajangmyeon (black bean paste noodle) to Bulgogi (barbeque), Jjigae (Stew), Pajeon and Kimchijeon (savory pancakes) and Ddeokbokki (rice cake). Korean cuisine has distinctive flavors that can be sweet, sour, spicy and salty all in one bite. It’s truly a food haven. I am definitely visiting Seoul again in the near future.
