Love Hurts

This Incubus song didn’t make it to Asia but its one of my favourite song. It’s a very simple song about love, yet profound and intense with emotionally charged melodies. There is hollowness in the music that is almost haunting. But I guess its no surprise considering all Incubus lyrics are so insightful that it naturally forces you to contemplate.

The song is about the idea of love, to find love and having it be pure, and not be tainted by your misperceptions, misconceptions, expectations and transcending the sort of more worldly aspects of the love experience.

Tonight we drink to youth
And holding fast to truth
I don't want to lose what I had as a boy
My heart still has a beat
But love is now a feat
(as common as a cold day in LA)

Sometimes when I'm alone I wonder
Is there a spell that I am under?
Keeping me from seeing the real thing

Love hurts.....
But sometimes it's a good hurt
And it feels like I'm alive
Love sings
When it transcends the bad things
Have a heart and try me
Cause without love I won't survive.

I'm fettered and abused
Stand naked and accused
Should I surface this one man submarine?
I only want the truth
So tonight we drink to youth
I'll never lose what I had as a boy

I prefer this song by Incubus.

Sometimes I feel the fear of uncertainty stinging clear
And I cant help but ask myself how much I'll let the fear take the wheel and steer
It's driven me before, it seems to have a vague haunting mass appeal
Lately I'm beginning to find that I should be the one behind the
wheel
Whatever tomorrow brings, I'll be there
With open arms and open eyes yeah
Whatever tomorrow brings, I'll be there, I'll be there
So if I decide to waiver my chance to be one of the hive
Will I choose water over wine and hold my own and drive, oh oh
It's driven me before, it seems to be the way
That everyone else get around
Lately, I'm beginning to find that when I drive myself, my light is found
Whatever tomorrow brings, I'll be there
With open arms and open eyes yeah
Whatever tomorrow brings, I'll be there, I'll be there
Would you choose water over wine
Hold the wheel and drive
Whatever tomorrow brings, I'll be there
With open arms and open eyes yeah
Whatever tomorrow brings, I'll be there, I'll be there

Hi Fleensh,
I'm impressed that you took the time to look for the lyrics. I'm sure that there is someone out there that can translate the song to Hokkien....

Erm... no effort here... just serach, copy and paste only.

Yeah... I think this song needs a Hokkien version. Do let the expert know there is a new song that needs his expertise
