A new year

I stared at the huge clock in silence
Every second my heart beats faster
Blink and you will miss a beat
Always keep one of your eyes open

The passage of time is extraordinary
It’s definite yet unpredictable
That one pivotal second
To mark the end of a beginning

I look forward to many things this year
But I guess life should not be planned
It should be liberated and impulsive
And to delight in every breath you take
